Cross-cultural training for Japanese staff and families
The main aim of this training is to give insight into the difficult situations people can experience and to facilitate the development of some helpful coping strategies for use during their stay in Britain.
Cross-cultural training for British staff
It helps to introduce Japanese culture not only on a superficial level, but in precise ways, tailored to help British staff have more insight and self-awareness, so they can discuss and implement this knowledge to create better conditions at work. Such training also assists British staff and families who are going to live in Japan, by reducing anxiety before departure and preparing them for living in Japan and adapting to Japanese society.
Working with overseas students in higher education
This training is designed to offer insight into how to support overseas students. There is often a big gap between the experiences and expectations of educational staff and overseas students. In this training, issues which overseas students normally have are addressed and we explore how to help them to study in the UK in a better way.

Dealing with complaints in the call centres
Being at the receiving end of a complaint is not easy and very stressful. Angry customers can generate exasperation for staff but they have to exercise self restraint and deal with complaints effectively. Showing empathy and using listening skills is a very useful tool. This training aims to develop the skills of active listening and gives insights into how staff can deal with complaints in a constructive way.

Counselling skills, active listening or showing empathy, can be beneficial for certain professions such as staff in hospital or school. This training facilitates employees to gain such skills in order to improve their communication at work.

How to deal with pressure
It is common that people feel pressure especially if they fear failure. They are worried that if they make mistakes, other people might find out their incompetence. This training assists people to be more aware of their behaviour patterns and how they feel pressure, and gives insight into how they can improve the situation.
Anger management
Many people think that anger is negative and bad. They try to suppress it. Actually anger is not bad at all when it is used appropriately. Anger can generate very good energy. This training is not about how to get rid of anger, but how to use anger as a positive force.

Examples
Carers of people who have serious illness
Training is provided for carers who support patients suffering from serious illness such as cancer. Such carers often find it very difficult to know what to say to patients and how best to be of help. This training gives supportive insights and many helpful tips.
Mental health for ethnic minorities
Treatments for mental health are mostly based on Western approaches and some aspects do not apply to ethnic minorities culturally. This training explores what are the culturally sensitive approaches and gives insights into how to work with people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
